International Translation Day 2020
The motto of the International Translation Day on September 30 in the year 2020 is Finding the words for a world in crisis.

Multilingualism Day in the European Parliament 2020
Multilingualism Day in the European Parliament (EP) on September 26 in the year 2020 will be held on-line. Different sessions and workshops that are streamed live from the plenary chamber of the EP amongst other places will look at the work of translators in the EP. The principle of multilingualism ensures that all Europeans can follow the work of their democratic representatives in any of the European Union’s 24 official languages. Interpretation into English, French, German, Italian, Polish, and Spanish is available for all sessions.

eTranslation Available to European SMEs
The European Commission’s machine translation tool eTranslation is available to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the European Union (EU) since April 20, 2020. eTranslation covers all of the 24 official languages of the EU, as well as Icelandic, Norwegian and Russian. The institutions of the EU and their Member States have already been using the tool for some time.

IATE: New Version On-line
The latest version of IATE, the European Union’s terminology database, has been on-line since November 7 2018. The project was launched in 1999 and the database has been in use since 2004. The latest version of 2018 comes with numerous improvements and new functionalities. IATE is administered by the Translation Centre for the Bodies of the European Union in Luxembourg and now has about 1.2 million entries.
